We Won A Medal! - Our First Tap Night

Thankfully we escaped May with no further frost and the fruit on the trees are starting to develop nicely. Some of the trees are absolutely loaded, so fingers crossed it should be a good year for apples, all we need is the occasional rain for the fruit to swell and grow and then some nice warm sun to help the sugars develop.

We enjoyed welcoming a crowd of cider loving folk to our first ‘Tap Room’ at the cider barn in May - a fun evening with live music (even some dancing!) and plenty of ‘liquid nectar’ on tap. 

Our first Cidery Tour and Tasting event also took place at the end of May – a walk through the orchard talking about the trees and fruit, a run through the pressing process, looking at the equipment involved and an explanation of how we make our Bignose & Beardy Cider, finished off with plenty of tasting and a few nibbles. A great time had by all.

New tanks have been opened and tested in readiness for summer – we won’t say too much just yet, but we can tell you that we will be seeing the release of a very special barrel fermented perry…watch this space…
Lastly, and hot off the press, we are very proud to say that we won a Silver Medal at the 2022 International Cider Awards for our batch Standen Deliver – we have included bottles in this months box for you to sample before its all gone – it wont hang around for long!
